Hi-B High-Permeability CRGO Electrical Steel Coil

High-permeability grain-oriented electrical steel, also described as high-permeability GOES or HGO, provides higher magnetic polarization and lower core loss than conventional grain-oriented grades. In some markets, this material class is also referred to as Hi-B-type CRGO.

High-permeability grain-oriented electrical steel, also described as high-permeability GOES or HGO, provides higher magnetic polarization and lower core loss than conventional grain-oriented grades. In some markets, this material class is also referred to as Hi-B-type CRGO.

It is used in transformer core designs where lower no-load loss, higher flux density or improved material efficiency is required. Final material selection should be based on the transformer design, target magnetic properties and downstream core-processing method.

Key Features

  • Higher magnetic polarization than conventional GOES
  • Lower material core loss for low-no-load-loss transformer designs
  • Available in multiple thicknesses and performance classes
  • Full-coil and slit-strip supply available according to confirmed requirements

Typical Applications

  • Energy-efficient distribution transformer cores
  • Power transformer cores
  • Low-no-load-loss transformer designs
  • Laminated or wound cores, subject to grade and process confirmation

Material Selection and Quality Confirmation

Higher material performance does not by itself guarantee the no-load loss of a finished transformer. Core design, joint configuration, cutting quality, burr control, assembly and processing stresses also affect final core performance.

The required material grade and test conditions should therefore be confirmed against the transformer design before supply.
